This is the first poll to show the independent Vermont senator ahead of Clinton in the Democratic presidential race in New Hampshire. The poll has Sanders at 44 percent and Clinton at 37.

The Democrats will have their first debate in Nevada on Oct. 13. Other Democratic candidates Martin O’Malley, Jim Webb and Lincoln Chaffee polled low. However, Vice President Joe Biden, who has not announced a run, did get 9 percent in the poll.
